Permanent campaign mode… it’s all about 2010 and 2012

The collapse of our country is happening at breakneck speed. Has anyone wondered why Obama and the democrats have been pushing so fast and so hard to get their agenda passed? The takeovers of GM and Chrysler and AIG, the FDIC taking over bank after failing bank, the pressure by the government to consume the healthcare industry, push a money-making cap-and-trade (“crap and tax” as some call it), as well as the climate initiatives?

Then, there was the recent passing of the Pedophile Protection act (also known as “hate crimes” act).

American Family Association President Tim Wildmon warned that the new law “creates a kind of caste system in law enforcement, where the perverse thing is that people who engage in non-normative sexual behavior will have more legal protection than heterosexuals. This kind of inequality before the law is simply un-American.”

Wildmon said the legislation creates possible situations where pastors may be arrested if their sermons on sexuality can be linked in even the remotest way to acts of violence.

“It threatens free speech and freedom of religion and is totally unacceptable,” he said.

Then, there is the fact that, even though they are rushing the healthcare legislation NOW NOW NOW, it won’t even begin to really kick in until 2013.

But if President Barack Obama gets to sign a health care overhaul this fall, the uninsured won’t be covered until 2013 – after the next presidential election.

Why the delay? Well, it’s obvious. This will turn out to be the biggest mistake ever. It will cost WAY more than anyone is saying now, and the care will be rationed, be of lower quality, will pay for less than insurance companies pay for now, and will force out the non-government competition, leaving us with just the government option as well as a few holdouts.

Obama and the democrats know this. They want the delay so that they can hope to get re-elected before the stuff hits the fan. But they are rushing to pass it now while they have a majority and hopefully give the electorate time to forget before the 2010 fall elections (and the 2012 Congressional and Presidential elections).

Also, they want the money BEFORE they start handing out any reduced benefits.

“We start collecting taxes from individuals, from employers, and start other types of income in 2010,” Bunning explained on the Fox News Channel today. “And then the benefits don’t start until 2014.”

So we learn right off the bat that there are FOUR YEARS where they collect money, but do not give out benefits.

The same is true with the Cap-and-Trade bill. They want it in place before they get swept out of power in the 2010 elections.

And he’s pushing his gay agenda by the recent signing of the so-called “hate” crimes bill which will put gays in the military.

As a candidate, Obama promised to end the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy that bars gays and lesbians from serving openly in the military. He pledged to work to overturn the Defense of Marriage Act, which limits how states, local and federal bodies can recognize partnerships and determine benefits.

Also, most of the stimulus money Obama promised hasn’t been spent yet. Most of it won’t be spent until late summer of 2010, in order to cause a huge boom right before elections and supposedly help the democrats.

It now appears that Obama is in permanent campaign mode as well.

Hard decisions remain shelved while health care, cap ‘n’ trade, and more useless, profligate spending are the norm. People are dying in the Middle East because the president is too busy campaigning for colleagues. The kid was elected to serve his country not run a perpetual merry-go-round of speeches raising campaign cash. A comparison of time frames in this administration so far, shows 22 Obama fund raising road trips for our president thus far, while Bush did six. Something is very wrong here. The first nine months of this presidency has been so negative they need every dollar they can scratch-up to be used for buying 2010 election ads.

For Obama and the democrats, what is best for their own power is more important than what happens to the rest of us.
